Description
While RPKI ROAs have gone a long way in securing your BGP announcements, they far from cover all potential BGP hijack scenarios.
In many cases, what stands between you and a potential BGP hijack is still what is recorded in public IRR DB (e.g. the RIPE DB) particularly your AS-set.
In this talk, I will look at what an AS-set is, what different "types" exist, how they're used to keep you safe from BGP abuse, and how you can help tighten your security by properly maintaining your AS-set.
This is a follow-up talk to the one I presented in spring at DKNOG, Netnod and Nog.FI.
